And the blogging begins....
Part of my job is to have flawless skin. Obviously if I cant fix my own skin concerns why would I be able to fix yours? Being that I am a great representation of a 21st century women, Juggling a career , trying to be healthy and somewhere in there have a social life. My skin starts to show my busy lifestyle. Clients are always asking me what my skin care routine is and what my favorite treatments are to get done on me!
My own facials are never anything fancy its usually after a 10 hour work day and I slap some lactic acid and a hydrating mask on. Being that summer is coming and I wont be able to hide behind primers, foundation and illuminating highlighters that give me the appearance of having that beautiful glow everyone wants.
I'm going to start project ME and I'm going to share with everyone my favorite pre summer treatment plan that never fails! Even if you don't have acne but without make up on your skin is dull, uneven, flakey, you have breakouts or you have black heads in your nose in chin (like me) your going to thank me forever!
Everyone knows I love chemical peels so of course that's how I start the journey. I use a specific blend of lactic , salicylic, trichloroacetic acid(TCA) and I finish it off with vitamin A. For those of you who don't know this combo is magical!
Lactic acid is derived from milk. Regular use of lactic acid will stimulate collagen prolonging younger skin. This is why most of my clients have at least one product in there routine that contains lactic acid.
Salicylic acid breaks down layers of thick skin. It is used to treat common plantar warts, psoriasis, calluses, and corns. It is also used to treat or to prevent acne.
My all time favorite TCA is derived from a modified version of acetic acid, which can be commonly found in vinegar. Its benefits are extensive, which makes it a worthwhile option for even those who prefer all natural. Rarely will you find an ingredient that can help so effectively treat the progression of skin cancer, chronic inflammation acne and other skin issues. Why I LOVE it is because its the best acid for getting rid of your uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation (brown spots).
The last part of your peel is applying Vitamin A. A short explanation on why you want vitamin A ! Using antioxidants such as vitamins C, E, and A can curb the damage caused by unstable molecules known as free radicals. These molecules can harm skin cells and cause signs of aging.
Basically this is the perfect combination to give you all around beautiful skin. Depending on what I'm trying to accomplish we would do a series of this chemical peel a few weeks apart . I usually suggest between 2-3. After your done with the chemical peel stage comes my favorite part!
After you do a chemical peel we have just lifted years of dead skin, we have mobilized it and sloughed it off. After you do chemical peels you still have lingering skin and we need to continue to work like PAC MAN and eat off the rest of the dead skin that's making your face appear dull and unhealthy. I now suggest to do enzyme express facials.
After peeling back all of your dead skin , we have opened up all of your pores this is where the brightening portion comes in. Enzymes are fabulous especially pineapple enzyme. The high vitamin C and bromelain content of pineapple juice makes it an effective acne and brightening treatment.
Pineapple enzyme or "Bromelain" is an enzyme that softens skin and has been used for hundreds of years in South and Central America to fight inflammation and swelling. An express facial is a quick 30 minute facial, the majority of this facial your being steamed with pineapple enzyme on your skin. The steam works to open your pores and activate the enzyme. Then I finish off the facial with my favorite serum from Vivant skin care spin trap. I like express facials because if your as busy as me you can fit this in the middle of your day and it doesn't take up much time. For my pre summer plan after I do my chemical peels I do 6 express pineapple enzyme facials (one every week).
You'll be thanking me after this one! stay tuned because I'm going to post before and photos of my OWN skin for the very first time.
SIDE NOTE.. Get use to posts like these. On my blog I will be sharing different treatment plans that I've found to be successful , breaking down product ingredients, things to watch out for , cheap beauty hacks and I will go over my opinion on beauty trends (such as those black masks that harden and you peel off , but that's for another day).
